JUNE 7-11 | Kootenai River | Libby, MT | $2,250
Our country's elite military personnel are daily faced with many challenges, demands, and dynamic situations. At Altar, we understand the investment you make in our nation and the many facets of work and home life that demand your attention each day.
What is often missing from the list of needs is the time and attention needed for your soul's health and well-being. Is it time for you to give yourself the critical gift of devoted time away for rest, renewal, and re-imagining life and ministry from the place of a healthy soul?
Our retreat offers the space to connect with God, self, and others in a meaningful way through intentional and guided lessons, reflections and conversations, fly fishing as a metaphor and adventure, with great food, rest and fellowship. You will be placed in an environment that creates the space to evaluate and read the waters of life, connect with God and become better anglers through the experienced team that will guide you through this retreat adventure.
Altar Fly Fishing has had the privilege to serve Navy SEAL's, SWCC's and NSW Chaplains through spiritual resiliency trainings. Now it is your turn. Join Altar on a unique adventure and renewing experience with other military members. When you are at your best, everyone else wins around you.
"The intentional combination of outdoor environment, structured review of content, and unstructured time for reflection and decompression was extremely effective."
–Navy SEAL Officer
"The Altar team, the outdoor context, the conversations, and the quality facilities, combine for an extremely engaging time of spiritual growth and reflection–a most worthy investment of time and resources!"
–Naval Special Warfare Chaplain
"NSW CSS Chief: “This was by far the most effective resiliency training I have received in my 17 years in the Navy. Eric and the team at Altar were extremely professional and tailored the event to suit the needs of the group. I cannot think of a better setting."
–NSW CSS Chief

KOOTENAI RIVER
Isolated in the northwest corner of Montana the Kootenai River lies off the beaten path of the more traveled, popular “big name” rivers of Montana. Providing a truly uncrowded setting the Kootenai River maintains a high quality trout fishery.
The Kootenai River, emerging from Libby Dam, is Montana’s newest tailwater fishery. Cradled between the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness and the Purcell Mountains, it contains a wide array of insect life to support prolific hatches throughout the season.
The Kootenai and its tributaries are the only waters in Montana to contain a native strain of rainbow trout, called Columbia Redbands.
