ARRIVAL: Please make your travel arrangements with a plan to arrive at the lodge between 3:30 -5:00pm on Wednesday. This gives everyone time to settle into their rooms before gathering for appetizers around 6pm. Please note that we are unable to accommodate early arrivals.

Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI).
Approx. 30 minutes from the lodge.

Asheville Airport (AVL)
102 miles - just under 2 hrs to lodge

Knoxville - Tyson McGhee Airport (TYS)
134 miles - approx 2hrs 10 minutes to lodge

When making your travel plans, please
plan to arrive at the lodge between
3:30 -5:00 pm on Wednesday.
The retreat will conclude at approx. 9:00 am on Sunday following breakfast and our final gathering.

Ground Transportation

Please make your own ground transportation plans that best coordinate with your flight and travel needs.

If you choose to fly into Tri-Cities Regional Airport, renting (or sharing a rental) car or taking an Uber is probably your best option.

If you choose to fly into Asheville or Knoxville, renting a car is probably your best option.

Fishing License

Your trip requires a Tennessee fishing license. Purchase your license online in advance of your trip. We recommend taking a photo of your fishing license with your phone for access on the water.
When purchasing your license you will first need to create an account.

Once complete, ***choose the 3-DAY FISHING - All Species Including Trout option for October 29-30-31, 2026*** and follow prompts to complete your purchase.

NOTE: Gear is not required for your retreat. If you do not have gear of your own, Altar will equip you for your fly fishing experience including waders, boots, fly rods & reels as needed.
