If your travel plans get you in earlier, we recommend checking out the charming downtown area of Buena Vista.

When making your travel plans, please
plan to arrive at the lodge between
3:30 -5:00 pm on Friday.
The retreat will conclude at approx. 9:00 am on Tuesday after breakfast and our final gathering.

Ground Transportation

Please make your own ground transportation plans that best coordinate with your flight and travel needs.

Fishing License

Your trip requires a Colorado fishing license. Purchase your license online in advance of your trip.
When purchasing your license please select the 5-day option starting on your arrival date of Friday, July 10, 2026. You will also need to add the Habitat Stamp. Choose the option to PICK UP your license. When you arrive in Buena Vista you can stop at the local fly shop in downtown Buena Vista- show your receipt and driver's license–they will print your license for you. We can also help coordinate this for you when you arrive. NOTE: 2026 licenses open in March 2026.

If you paid in full for your trip at the time of registration, thank you, you are all set.
If you paid your deposit at the time of registration, please follow the link below to pay your balance due no later than 30 days before your retreat.
All food, lodging, guiding fees and tips are included in your retreat fee.

Special Fishing Gear Discount. Risen Fly Shop will be your personal gear concierge and you will receive a 15% discount storewide if you are looking to purchase fishing gear before or after your retreat. Risen is a full-service fly shop located in Pennsylvania (not an online store). Just call and ask for Ryan and say you are with Altar.

NOTE: Gear is not required for your retreat. If you do not have gear of your own, Altar will equip you for your fly fishing experience including waders, boots, fly rods & reels as needed.
