Our Reading the Waters retreat is open to anyone who is curious about Altar's mission and ministry, who is seeking to read the waters of life and creating new intentionality in life's rhythms, and simply desire the space to decompress, refresh, and share in a fishing adventure.
Led by Altar's team you will experience retreat rhythms, enjoy delicious meals, intentional teaching, time for personal reflection, and engaging conversations while encountering God's great outdoors.

SOUTH HOLSTON RIVER
The South Fork Holston River, more often referred to simply as the South Holston River, is one of the most renowned fishing rivers in the Southeast. USA Today ranked the South Holston 4th for top fly fishing in the country! Beginning in Virginia, the South Holston River is free-flowing for the first part of its journey down the slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The famous tailwaters emanating from the South Holston Dam is where we will find our adventure.
