Some of the most impactful, life-changing work happening in our world is through nonprofit organizations serving amazing causes and people. At Altar, we love championing this kind of people-raising, God-honoring work. In recent years, so much charitable giving has gone to nonprofits because of their impact. The question…
Do we have healthy leaders leading these amazing nonprofits?
Nonprofit leaders are faced with layers of complexity on a day to day basis. Similar to pastors, their role requires them to wear many hats, pulling them in many different directions and oftentimes, away from their organizational mission. Nonprofit leaders are often responsible for staffing, management, programming, stakeholders, and the use of their personal influence for impact in their communities.
“Add to this the long hours often required for fundraisers and special events, and the zealous commitment most working in the nonprofit sector have towards a specific cause – and you get the recipe for nonprofit burnout.” [Donorbox.org]
Here is the bottom line: If we do not have healthy leaders leading the great work of nonprofits, we will fall short of the impact potential nonprofits can have on people, communities, and our culture.
Altar Fly Fishing is committed to helping nonprofit leaders thrive in life, family and work/ministry resulting in greater impact and stronger nonprofit organizations.
For 2024, Altar invites nonprofit leaders to join us on our ministry leader or marketplace leader retreats as we work toward offering designated nonprofit leader retreats In 2025 and beyond.
